Xiaomi's entry into the United Kingdom follows its arrival in France and Italy this May, and the official entry last November into Spain, its first Western European market, where it had already become the third largest smartphone vendor.
Xiaomi's United Kingdom product line-up is led by the Mi 8 Pro, which has a dual camera powered by artificial intelligence, a 6.21 inch high-definition AMOLED display, a pressure sensitive in-display fingerprint sensor and a transparent glass back cover. This year, though, it would appear that things may take a turn for the better, as a new leak detailing Xiaomi's Android Pie roadmap surfaced earlier.

The star attraction is the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro. The company is opening a Mi shop on 18 November in Westfield, west London. I only had a small amount of time to use the phone at the launch event, but the display looks decent - if not mind-blowing - with relatively punchy colours and a good level of contrast.
For exmaple, the Redmi 6 with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of inbuilt storage and a dual-camera with 12MP and 5MP sensors will drop from £149 to £129. Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor clocked at 2.8GHz, along with Adreno 630 GPU.
Xiaomi, the world's fourth-ranked smartphone maker, entered Britain on Thursday with the global debut of its flagship Mi 8 Pro, which it hopes will win fans in a market dominated by Samsung and Apple.
