An exact date for the televised draft has not been revealed yet, but the Times reports January 30 and 31 have emerged as two potential targets for a TNT broadcast, depending on the availability of the two captains.

For the second time, National Basketball Association captains will draft All-Star teams before the game is played in 2019.

With respect to the Celtics, Jayson Tatum seems to have a shot at being named to his first All-Star team this season, while Kyrie Irving, who's played in five of the last six All-Star Games, seems a lock.

The teams will be selected by the two captains, which are determined by the leading vote getters. For the first time, the draft will be televised, the New York Times reported Wednesday.

The NBA's second annual All-Star draft will be televised.

Everyone wanted it televised... well not Carmelo Anthony or Stephen Curry.

"What's bad about it?"

"It was great, me and Steph, we had a great time drafting on the phone just picking", said James, who now is in the Western Conference after signing with the Lakers. The draft will be televised live, making the All-Star weekend all the more interesting and exciting. It doesn't matter if you're first or last, you're 24 of the best in the world at that point in time. I don't think it'll be bad.

The game was indeed a little more competitive because of it, so they are going to try it again this year in Charlotte.

Whatever transpires, this season's game will differ from last season's in one key way: we'll know the order in which players were drafted, meaning the game will have some potential added motivational factors.

Last season, Team LeBron defeated Team Stephen 148-145.
