Paul Pogba sends Instagram message to Man Utd fans after Juventus win

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho taunts Juventus crowd

United have developed a nasty habit of starting games slowly - they were a goal down inside 20 minutes when Juventus won at Old Trafford - but that wasn't the case here.

Manchester Utd manager Jose Mourinho had a few words for Juventus players after his side beat them 2-1 in Turin.

As I said on 5 live, I would not single out any of United's players for praise. Should have made it 3-1.

Moments later and United were granted another opportunity from a free kick. Mata is a genius in those type of situations and after that Juventus looked unsettled.

United had done well to stay in the game against a team used to winning.

Mourinho has consistently stuck with Romelu Lukaku as his centre-forward, choosing instead to use Sanchez out wide, but with Lukaku injured, Sanchez was given his chance through the middle against Juventus and he impressed. Alexis Sánchez came deeper to get possession so there was no obvious threat to Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini at the back either.

Juventus, on the other hand, looked unsafe every time they went forward thanks to the link-up play between Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala.

Then just after the hour, Bonucci played a wonderful ball over the top for Ronaldo whose side-foot volley whistled past De Gea to open the scoring.

Ronaldo is the all-time record scorer in the Champions League with 121 goals, but this was his first in the competition for Juventus - although he missed one match through suspension after his red card against Valencia.

After two goals in the final four minutes secured a vital three points in Europe, Mourinho responded to persistent abuse from the Juve fans, aware of his history as a former manager of rivals Inter, by cupping his hand to his ear. It was very Ronaldo to take off his shirt and show off his 20-pack! "And especially there is always a lot of negative comments about us but hopefully they might say something positive for once, because I think we deserve it, the team deserve it, the manager deserves it for getting this unbelievable result".

"I think it's always good to be the outsider, so people expect bad of us and then we surprise people", said Pogba afterwards. With Lukaku they are more inclined to play direct, whereas Sánchez is really good at dropping deeper and linking up with the midfield and wingers.

There's an expectation that a club like United should get through in the Champions League every season and it looks as if they are going to qualify for the last 16.

Ronaldo desperate for history I was amused to see Cristiano Ronaldo chasing around like he... It doesn't bode well ahead of a trip to Manchester City on Sunday.
