The Pittsburgh Steelers running back played basketball at an L.A. Fitness club in North Pittsburgh on Tuesday night, a manager with L.A. Fitness confirmed to ESPN.

Le'Veon Bell has less than a week to report to the Pittsburgh Steelers in order to play this season, but it appears he's still debating signing the franchise tag.

Pictures and videos circulated online late Tuesday of Bell in the club. But Bell would still be free to test the market under the transition tag, and even if the Steelers matched any external offers, he'd still get the long-term deal he's wanted all along. Bell remains absent from the team, though it was believed he would join the team following its upcoming game against Carolina.

There have mixed reports dating back to the preseason on when Bell would report to the team, with an expectation he would return to the team during their Week 7 bye.

That number is high enough that the team would likely either release Bell into free agency or place the transition tag on him.

The Athletic reported a month ago that Bell would qualify as a third franchise tag even if he didn't show by the deadline. If Bell misses the Steelers game on Thursday, which is nearly certain, he'll have lost out on $8.55 million in salary for the 2018 season.

"Just about everybody has an opinion on my life & anxious about what I'm doing", Bell wrote.

The newest twist came on Wednesday when Bell lashed out at his critics on Twitter. & that's clearly on them ... "Also if you're really finding the time to figure out what I'm saying, you've proved my point".
