Starman has probably put more miles on his cherry red Tesla Roadster in the last nine months than any other auto in history.

To which Musk instantly replied that he would love to be in India.

American billionaire Elon Musk said that Apple uses the technique, in particular the smartphone of their production.

One of the world's largest electric vehicle makers, Tesla Motors, is set to arrive in India next year, claimed a report in Carwale.com on Monday.

This isn't the first time Space X CEO has shown interest to enter the Indian market.

It's expected to launch in January 2019.

The Justice Department has also requested documents as part of a similar investigation, but those investigators have not issued subpoenas or made other formal requests, Tesla said in a statement Friday.

Musk clarified the current situation in a tweet a few months back, citing challenges with adhering to the Indian government's regulations.

He had also signalled then that the company's Chief Financial Officer Deepak Ahuja will have the final say on when Tesla should be in India. "But with the Tesla, we want to make products that people will admire", says Musk.

Deepak, who has over 20 years of financial experience in the global auto industry, was Tesla CFO between 2008 and 2015, and later returned again as CFO of the company in February 2017.

The two regulators are investigating whether Musk and the company over-promised about how many of its new Model 3 auto it could make.

After setting a partial presence in India, Tesla plans to expand operations to India by 2020.

Earlier in May, Musk had hinted out his firm's entry to India via micro-blogging site Twitter. The lawsuit cites repeated promises in 2017 that Tesla was "on track" to build 5,000 Model 3s per week by the end of that year at its factory in Fremont, California.

The interview also delved into the company's plans for a Model Y crossover SUV, and the upcoming revamp of Tesla's Roadster. The company could manufacture it limited quantities.
