But Prof Kamuntu said the couple's visit was a great celebrity endorsement for Uganda and that the president, being the chief marketer of the country, could not let the two leave without an engagement, encouraging them to promote Uganda's Tourism and arts industries. "I thank Kanye for the gift of white sneakers", tweeted President Museveni.
"If you knew how many people are following that Kanye, who, must now begin to ask questions about Uganda, who must be curious, who must want to know what attracted him to Uganda".
Museveni, 74, has been in office since 1986 and in January signed a law that scrapped a 75-year age cap for presidential candidates, a move critics said was aimed at him remaining in power indefinitely.
Museveni - who in his more than 30 years in office has enacted a law ending presidential age limits, jailed his opponents and has been hostile to LGBT rights - expressed his support for the USA president after Trump was accused of referring to African nations and Haiti as "shithole countries".
Both Kanye West and President Yoweri Museveni and are ardent supporters of US President Donald Trump and have often been criticized for it.
Kanye West is giving back.
Journalist within the lodge disclosed that West has wondered at the panoramic views in the park, saying: "He loves the vibe in Uganda".
"I tell you what, that was pretty impressive", Trump said after West seemed to run out of steam.
