Porsche's Panamera and Sport Turismo get GTS'ed and we want them badly

Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual clutch transmission. The big brakes (390 mm front, 365 mm rear) will be a match to the V8.

There are a few key visual differences to the GTS models thanks to the Sport Exhaust with blacked-out tailpipes and other darkened bits. The rated top speeds for the GTS and GTS Sport Turismo are 292 km/h and 289 km/h respectively.

The world has changed since people first raised hell about Porsche building a four-door saloon, and these days the Panamera is one of the fanciest and fastest ways to rocket four people around in sumptuous style. Like other Panameras, the GTS models can be specced with rear-wheel steering, too. The interior features hallmark elements of black Alcantara and anodised aluminium.

The insides get a heated multifunction Sport steering wheel with paddles, black Alcantara fabric and red contrast stitching. The optional Interior GTS package, allows owners to customise their auto with design elements such as a rev counter, designer seams, and GTS logos in Carmine Red or Crayon.

The GTS models offer all the same innovations as the second-generation Panamera range.

As with the wider Panamera range, there's a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, along with a partially-digital driver display. The display can be configured by the driver and projects all relevant information directly into his line of sight in full colour. Officially, GTS stands for Gran Turismo Sport, which would make the complete name of the new model a tricky-to-pronounce Gran Turismo Sport Sport Turismo. Porsche's first road-approved sports auto, the 904 Carrera GTS, was launched all the way back in 1963, bringing racing technology to the streets. In 2007, the GTS badge was revived with the 911 Carrera GTS.

Porsche says that compared to the previous version of the Panamera GTS the new model gets significant upgrades, as well as a special package called Sport Design.

In the United Kingdom, pricing starts at £105,963 for the Panamera GTS and £108,110 for the Panamera GTS Sports Turismo (including VAT).

The new GTS models are available to order now.

Now you'll be able to get your sport on with the Sport Turismo GTS as well.
