Fortnite v6.10 patch introduced in-game tournaments - here’s how they work

Fortnite In-Game Tournaments Announced, All Platforms and Control Types to Compete Freely

With the release of patch v.610, the game's new In-Game Tournaments mode, located in the Events section in "Fornite Battle Royale", players can compete alongside others of all backgrounds, including professionals, for prizes and other goodies.

Well, according to the developers this is the very first open online competition for the game and is very simple to get used to.

Epic Games teased: "Tournaments will feature a target score to strive towards - reaching this score will award you with a shiny pin celebrating your accomplishment". Each of these scheduled sessions is a completely clean slate - all players will begin with the same score and compete over several hours of intense competition to earn as many points as possible. There will be two solo tournaments, two duo tournaments, and one squad tournament. The tournament will include gamers across all platforms, so cross play must be enabled to join the fun.

"Fortnite" is now in the middle of the Fall Skirmish, a competition among 500 top players, with a $1.1 million prize pool.

How to play Fortnite's in-game tournaments on PS4, Xbox and Switch?

Lucas and Conter, therefore, are "creating unauthorized derivative works of Fortnite by unlawfully modifying the game's code, and materially altering the game that the code creates, the experience of those who play it, and the experience of those who watch it being played", Epic says in the lawsuit.

While we'll have to wait until its available to see the kind of destruction the Quadcrasher can cause, we're betting that it's going to be very useful for ploughing through any structures that other players build.

This also applies to mobile players accustomed to touch controls on their phones and tablets.

"[Competitors] have shown that controller players can be successful while competing against some of the best PC players in the world". Almost 80 million people played Fortnite during the month of August, and new content was recently released for season 6 of the game.
