Ivan Gazidis to take Aaron Ramsey to AC Milan?

Ian Wright explains why Arsenal have benefitted from Man Utd struggles

The future of Ramsey remains uncertain, though, with the Welsh midfielder out of contract at the end of the season and no closer to agreeing an extension with the club he has represented for 10 years.

An improved four-year deal had been sorted but before the final version was written up Arsenal pulled out a fortnight ago.

The Welshman will be free to hold talks with clubs outside England in January and sign a pre-contract with a view to leaving Arsenal at the end of the season.

"Unai Emery will be a good manager for him but he needs a change".

Outgoing Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis is reportedly hoping to take Aaron Ramsey with him to AC Milan when he joins the Italian giants.

"That's a decision that they have made - things happen in football and you just have to get on with it and carry on playing the best you can", he said.

Meanwhile, Aaron Ramsey is now on global duty with Wales who are preparing to face Spain on Thursday night.

He added: 'Everything has been going great with the club. "I am contracted to Arsenal and I am going to do my best now this season to try and achieve something special". We thought we were in a position where we had agreed a deal but that's no longer the case.

He started Wales' global friendly against Spain at the Principality Stadium tonight. It's a story as old as time and it doesn't seem to be getting any better.

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has been named in the Federation Internationale de Football Association team of the week alongside Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley.
