In her complaint, Dutta claimed that during the shooting of a song sequence for the film Horn OK Pleassss in 2008, she was being inappropriately touched by Nana Patekar even after she had clearly mentioned that she will not enact or perform any lewd, vulgar or uncomfortable steps.
After the incident, says Tanushree, she was under tremendous shock and suffered psychological trauma, "unable to take up work and suffered huge monetary loss in crores of rupees".
Offences have been registered against them under IPC section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 509 (word, gesture or act meant to insult the modesty of a woman), the official said, adding that no arrest has been made so far.
Dutta added that she felt "uncomfortable and embarrassed" as a result of his "inappropriate behaviour" and that he had "outraged her modesty".
The Bollywood actor had accused actor Patekar of sexually harassing her on the sets of the film in 2008, an official said. She added that on October 5, days after she spoke out again after a decade, she was publicly embarrassed by comments allegedly made by Siddiqui in a television interview.
The commission has also written to Mumbai police, seeking information on the action it had taken on Dutta's complaint in this regard. "No one from the federation will work with that person, howsoever he or she is powerful", Ashoke Pandit, FWICE chief advisor, said.
"Anyone, who is found guilty of harassment of any kind, will be boycotted by the federation". However, the producer refused to budge and Dutta had no choice but to leave the studio, the complaint said. Many parts of my complaint were deleted, omitted and avoided, she alleged.
The FIR was registered late on Wednesday, hours after Dutta had arrived in the police station in her auto, clad in a burqa to record her statement in regard to the harassment allegations against Bollywood veteran Nana Patekar.
The commission also asked film producers, media houses and cine artist associations to set up an internal committee to address complaints filed by women in Bollywood.
After recording the statement, the police registered the offence late midnight, he said.
