Netflix's Upcoming 'The Witcher' Casts Two Very Important Female Leads

Chalotra is also relatively new, but has a recurring role on the upcoming Netflix series Wanderlust. Following the death of her mother and father, who was using the alias Duny at the time, Ciri grew closer to her grandmother, Queen Calanthe, who kept it a secret from Ciri that she was destined to become a witcher - someone who trains to become a hired monsterslayer.

Ciri is the princess of the kingdom central to the plot. Adam Levy will play Mousesack the Druid; MyAnna Buring the head of a magical academy named Tissaia (with Mimi Ndiweni and Therica Wilson-Read as two apprentice sorcerers, Fringilla and Sabrina); and lastly, Millie Brady will play an outcast princess, Renfri.

Although the Netflix series is directly inspired by the fantasy novels by Andrzej Sapkowski rather than the wildly popular video game takes by CD Projekt Red, Ciri and Yennefer are well known characters to fans of the game.

It seems like a good mix of newcomers and star talent, and we can't wait to see how it shapes up, even if we're still struggling to come to terms with Cavill as Geralt.
