A seven-year-old girl's performance of the national anthem wowed the crowd this weekend at a LA Galaxy game against the Seattle Sounders on Sunday.
You can see Malea Emma's performance in the video above.
The little singer wasn't put off by the massive fireworks set off during the opening ceremony and there was even more entertainment on the pitch as LA Galaxy took on Seattle Sounders in the MLS.
It left the Galaxy's usually affable star forward Zlatan Ibrahimović with an even bigger smile on his face. She started singing at age 1. And thanks @susannah_kim for the bracelet!.
Malea Emma began singing when she was one-year-old and made her singing debut at Carnegie Hall.
"Always before I sing, my heart will beat really, really fast", she said to CBS News. Basically before she could speak. She has appeared in commercials for Progressive Insurance and Jeep, among others. In July, she starred in the Hollywood Bowl's production of "Annie" as Molly, the protagonist's best friend.
Malea Emma was chosen to perform Sunday through The Galaxy's anthem contest on Instagram.
"She always gets nervous before every performance". "She's actually very shy".
"I won?" she asked, grinning ear to ear.
While her family members are grateful for the exposure and experience for their daughter, they also recognize she's still just a kid and are not looking too far ahead. She is her favorite singer. "We are just trying to introduce her to a lot of opportunities". We don't know where this will end up going.
-The International Champions Cup also praise Emma's singing via Twitter.
