Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke is now the girl with the dragon tattoo (s).

Daenerys Targaryen is one of the most popular characters on HBO's hit series Game of Thrones. And whadda ya know?

In Game of Thrones - which will premiere its final season in 2019 - Emilia plays Queen Daenerys Targaryen, aka Lady of Dragonstone, Protector of the Seven Kingdoms, The Unburnt and, most importantly, Mother of Dragons.

She captioned the shot: 'MOD 4 LYFE! (Presumably "MOD" stands for Mother of Dragons.) "Dr Woo made sure this mamma ain't NEVER forgetting her babies".

Back in June, Clarke said her official goodbye to the huge HBO series in an emotional Instagram post captioned: "Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for nearly a decade".

Alongside an illustration of a wolf on her forearm, British actress Sophie got the words, "the pack survives" - which is a Sansa Stark quote from last season, and definitely not a spoiler, FYI.

Earlier this week, Clarke attended the Emmys, where Game of Thrones took home the award for Outstanding Drama Series.

Both actresses have been on show for nearly a decade, starring since its inception in 2011.

She said: "It's bittersweet, we've all done a lot of crying". So the more we can conjure up, the better it is.
