The Gunners boss has a great pedigree in the competition after he lead Sevilla to three successive Europa League titles between 2014 and 2016.

Arsenal kick-started their Europa League campaign with a 4-2 win over Ukranian club, Vorskla Poltava late Thursday evening at the Emirates Stadium, London. 'We have to improve and try to fight not to concede a goal like we did in the last minute.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a goal in each half, with Mkhitaryan laying on his second and a header from Danny Welbeck before substitute Mesut Ozil got in on the act.

But the visitors were able to grab two late consolation goals through Vladimir Chesnakov and Vyacheslav Sharpar.

"We need to continue to improve on this because in the last minute in Newcastle and again today in the last 20 minutes, we conceded two goals".

The other English club side playing in this year's Europa competition, Chelsea also got off to a winning start, thanks to a goal from Brazilian Willian in a 1-0 win over Greek side PAOK Salonika.

"Our challenge is to be competitive for 90 minutes of each match and this is one thing to improve".

"Little by little, we are conceding a few chances to the opposition, the same like in Newcastle".

"We are giving chances to many players to find the pieces and for the confidence. We need to because we are going to play a lot of matches".

"We lost against a good team today, but it's good experience for us", he said.

Unai Emery has revealed he makes a point of reminding his Arsenal players of their defensive responsibilities before every match. Some players are better when they are playing regularly. We need players and need to give minutes to players.

Thursday's match was the first of four home games in a row for Arsenal over the next 10 days, continuing with Sunday's visit of Everton in the Premier League.
