In a spine-chilling incident, a video has surfaced on social media where a young man can be seen brutally beating a girl to the pulp in Delhi's Tilak Nagar. He had allegedly threatened that she would meet the same fate if she did not marry him. The girl is reported to be an employee of a call centre and a friend of Tomar's ex-girlfriend. The arrest came hours after Home Minister Rajnath Singh asked Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik to take necessary action in the case. Efforts were made to contact the girl seen in the video but she approached the police on Friday and gave a written statement. When she said that she will file a complaint, the accused assaulted her, she has alleged. She filed a complaint to officers on Friday alleging she had been raped and was beaten up after saying she would report him to the police.

He was even seen kicking the victim.

The video went viral on social networking sites.

People want an answer from Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar that where would our daughters go and who will provide them security, Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi.

The man was arrested after Rajnath Singh intervened, calling out Delhi Police Commissioner to initiate investigations.

The police came to know about the viral video on September 13, according to an FIR lodged at a police station in North-West Delhi.

In the video, Tomar is seen dragging the woman and brutally assaulting her.

Police said the woman who was allegedly threatened by Rohit with an assault video was in a relationship with him for one-and-a-half years and they were about to get married.

It noted that the victim and her family were receiving threats to withdraw the case.

Another Twitter user posted a screenshot of his Instagram profile, asking the police to take strict action against him.
