Pep Guardiola rules out managing Spain but wants international job

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has made it clear that he wants to end his coaching career at current Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona.

An interview with Guardiola on Spanish television during the global break incorrectly translated the City boss as having said De Bruyne had a buyout clause in his contract.

He has not featured since their opening Premier League game of the season due to torn knee ligaments.

"In England there are no release clauses, you have to negotiate for the club".

Asked if De Bruyne has a release clause, Guardiola said: "No I don't think so".

Andre Schurrle has also impressed for the capital club with a goal in each of the games against Burnley and Brighton. "He knows absolutely everything, what happened here, the team, the way we play, or what happens with the club - he's involved".

"I want to take this opportunity to say that I am incredibly proud of the fact that the fundamental character of this club and its supporters has not changed in the last decade".

Guardiola added Raheem Sterling is in contention for Saturday's league visit of Fulham after the English forward missed global games against Spain and Switzerland with a back problem. "Sometimes this kind of thing needs its own time".

"I would like to play [manage] in a World Cup and a European Championship".

However, Jokanovic said comparisons between him and City boss Pep Guardiola are wide of the mark. "And I said, 'When there is trouble, he will be there"'. Football is what we like and enjoy most.

"Khaldoon [Al Mubarak, City chairman] and I know that we will not get everything right all the time".
