On Thursday, hundreds of people attended the funeral prayers of Begum Kulsoom at London's Regent Park mosque, which was separate from another one to take place in Lahore on Friday.
Shehbaz Sharif along with Kulsoom Nawaz's daughter Asma, grandson (Hussain Nawaz's son) and other family members will bring her body back to Pakistan. Her body will be brought back here and buried on Friday in the Jati Umra Lahore residence of the Sharif family.
According to Express News, Nawaz also reviewed preparations for Kulsoom's funeral scheduled to be held on Friday.
Kulsoom passed away at Harley Street Clinic, London, on Tuesday, while her spouse, Nawaz Sharif, and her daughter, Maryam Nawaz, were completing their prison sentences at Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi.
Nawaz Sharif, his daughter and son-in-law were granted parole to attend Begum Kulsoom's funeral.. Among the attendees were Hassan and Hussain Nawaz, Shehbaz Sharif, PML-N leaders Chaudhry Nisar and Muhammad Ishaq Dar.
Condolences continued to pour in for the Sharif family, upon Kulsoom Nawaz's demise.
Sharif is unable to meet visitors arriving at Jati Umra to extend condolences as his health deteriorated on Wednesday, family sources said. The funeral prayers will be offered at the Regent Park mosque on Thursday afternoon and her body will be flown to Lahore after completion of legal formalities.
The three-time Premier, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Mohammad Safdar, now serving prison terms on corruption charges, were granted parole by the Punjab government to attend Begum Kulsoom's funeral.
The Home Department yesterday initially increased the parole limit to three days with effect from 12midnight Wednesday, but later extended it to five days (until Sunday midnight) to enable the incarcerated Sharifs to participate in the last rites of Begum Kulsoom.
