According to TMZ, Miller had been dead for several hours before he was discovered unresponsive inside his Southern California home on September 7. According to local reports, a petition was even passed around to request that the name of the playground be changed to "Mac Miller Blue Slide Park". The friends reportedly stayed at the house until Friday morning. The initial 911 call was reported a "cardiac arrest" upon the assumption the caller was present during the ordeal.
Miller, 26, died of an apparent overdose at his California home last Friday. Miller's body was finally found around noon.
TMZ adds that some white powder was found at the scene, but that authorities suspect the home had been "swept clean" to hide any evidence of drug use. The coroner doing the post-mortem examination is believed to be awaiting the results of a toxicology test before completing their report.
It is believed he died from an overdose but his death certificate states the cause of death is still unknown listed as "deferred".
Miller's battle with drug addiction and depression was well known - his rap lyrics usually involved the theme. The location served as the title for his debut album - Blue Slide Park - which hit the top of the Billboard charts as an independent release in 2011.
