Mac Miller's close friend Shane Powers is speaking out in support of Ariana Grande.

On Tuesday, fans of the 26-year-old artist, who died on Friday, gathered at his childhood hangout, Blue Slide Park, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to pay their respects and say their goodbyes.

"Whether he's an addict or not, the way that Mac partied was not healthy", he added. He didn't say whether that was meant to help him avoid the paparazzi, but he was fully cooperative with the cops when they got there. There could not have been anybody more supportive of him being sober than Ariana. A friend claims that Grande wanted him to be healthy more than anything else. He also said that he "took phone calls from her".

Grande posted a tribute to Miller on Instagram and disabled her comments after trolls blamed her for Miller's apparent overdose.

After collaborating on the 2013 track The Way, the two made their romance public in September 2016 before splitting in late April of this year.

'This little girl was unbelievably involved and helpful to him being healthy.

TMZ was the first to report the news that the rapper died while in his Studio City home in California.

The official cause of Miller's death might not be known for weeks or months, after initial testing was unable to come to a solid conclusion.

Now Los Angeles County coroner's spokeswoman Sarah Ardalani revealed that while investigators have released his body to his family, a cause of death might not be announced for some time pending further toxicology results.
