Demi Lovato allegedly "smoked Oxycodone possibly laced with fentanyl" before she was found collapsed at her home in Los Angeles at the end of last month. She began breathing heavily, and it seems that the drug dealer noticed that and fled her home.
"She will be in rehab for several months and is doing an extensive program to ensure she gets the help she needs", a source told the outlet. The singer, who was hospitalized on July 24 after an apparent overdose, is now undergoing treatment in a Chicago facility - and it looks like she'll be there for some time.
TMZ reports Demi was given oxycodone, which appeared to be laced with fentanyl. They called 911 and while waiting for the medics to arrive, one used Narcan that they had on hand to revive Demi.
Following the scary incident, Lovato spent time at Cedars-Sinai in L.A., where Valderrama reportedly dropped in for regular visits. News that she "hasn't been in communication with anyone and is really focusing on herself".
Lovato was in the hospital for two weeks and is now at an out-of-state rehab facility.
After she was released from the hospital, Demi broke her silence with a lengthy note on Instagram. She's in therapy, working on "sobriety, mental health, and wellness". "It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet", Lovato wrote. What I've learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. While her health remains her priority, Lovato also hopes her stint in treatment will make a statement to everyone important in her life, including fans, that she is strong and able to recover.
