We not only have nine new players, but three or four players who were not completely fit in pre-season. That's what we spoke about and what we expect from ourselves.

That is the opinion of Sky Sports pundit Dennis Wise, who has singled out the Brazilian as the most impressive goalkeeper of the Premier League's opening weekend.

Due to RB Leipzig's sixth place finish, which secured a Europa League spot, the "Reds" had to shell out £53 for the midfielder - however many are praising Klopp for the transfer. "We have to be ready week in week out for the challenges".

West Ham offered little as the hosts dominated, but Klopp was reluctant to decribe the performance as ideal.

Keita had an excellent start against West Ham but Fabinho had to stay sat on the bench, that's only good news for Klopp. We will see where it leads to. "We have started the season great and everybody is happy". The start was good.

The Liverpool manager said: "He is not fit". Then, once their teams had been eliminated from the World Cup, the club quickly pushed through deals for Swiss winger Xherdan Shaqiri and, most importantly of all after last year's Champions League final, Brazilian keeper Alisson.

Mane scored 20 goals last season, the last coming in the Champions League defeat to Real Madrid in May, and he is up and running with two already.

The seasons of Southampton and Burnley commence as they meet at St Mary's Stadium at 13:30 (BST), but the game is overshadowed by Liverpool's opener against West Ham which is played at the same time.

"So it wasn't going to be easy but it says a lot about the boys and where we're at". Liverpool was dominant throughout, controlling the ball for almost two-thirds of the game and getting off 18 shots, eight of which were on target. In the first half we had two or three clear chances to make it 1-1 and we conceded the second goal in the last second of the period. Liverpool deserved to win.

Liverpool continued to pour forward and, though a third goal was a fair reflection of their superiority, they benefited from an offside goal when Mane made it 3-0.

Klopp's side is widely expected to push City the furthest and kicked off their campaign at Anfield with an effortless 4-0 victory over West Ham.
