In the video, some fans seem to be jostling for the Salah's attention as his auto stops at a traffic light.
Liverpool have contacted police after a video of Mohamed Salah apparently using his mobile phone while driving went viral on social media. People around the vehicle could be seen taking selfies as they attempted to get Salah's attention.
Context is needed but for the record, I'd like to say that I believe Liverpool are correct to have referred a video of the forward to Merseyside Police and that it counts for very little that he is a professional forward in this scenario.
'We have spoken to the player also and will deal with any follow-up internally.
"Neither the club or player will be making any further comment on this matter".
Local police also shared a tweet to confirm it's investigating the incident. Salah, 26, scored the opening goal in the game at Anfield.
The Premier League club said that they have alerted the Merseyside Police about the video.
In the footage the Egyptian - wearing a red top - appears to use his mobile phone as he gazes down at the screen.
Mohamed Salah, humble? You're having a laugh, aren't you?
The Egypt global has since signed a new five-year contract with Liverpool, making him the highest-paid player at the club.
Of course, Liverpool fans totally disagree with those suggestions that Salah isn't a nice guy and have brought up articles about him 'building a hospital and a school in his hometown Nagrig.'
He posted an Instagram story of him hugging a young Liverpool fan who invaded the pitch against West Ham at the weekend.
