Puel laments slow start after 'disappointing' loss to Manchester United

Puel determined to keep Maguire at Leicester

Leicester Prepare For Manchester United's Harry Maguire Assault

The former Manchester City forward also reckons everyone at his old club will support in Friday night's Premier League opener at Old Trafford.

Leicester paid £12 million rising to £17 million in June previous year for Maguire, with United opting to pass on the opportunity to bring the player to Old Trafford.

Harry Maguire's "head could have been all over the place" against a Manchester United side that hoped to sign him, says team-mate Ben Chilwell.

According to a report by The Irish Independent, Manchester United could have landed Harry Maguire on the cheap, had they taken up the opportunity to snap him up from Hull City last summer.

Puel outlined some of the qualities he thought made Maguire of interest to United. It gives us a couple of weeks to recover people and to prepare people better and to focus on the players that are available. I'm happy about the performance but it would have been better to win or draw for our fans.

"It is very good to have Harry back", the Leicester left-back said.

"We will see what happens in his future but I am happy to keep Harry with us and I'm happy with his attitude in general".

"We know a friendly game is always different".

The transfer window has officially shut, closing at 5pm on Thursday meaning the Englishman can no longer leave unless it's to a club that's overseas. "I focus just on what we have and we go with everything we have to the first match".

The 21-year-old has signed a five-year contract at the King Power Stadium, subject to the deal being given global clearance. We saw that again tonight, how good a player he is.

"We have had good talks with Harry and with the chairman and we can not change things just before the first game of the season and just before the end of the transfer window".
