Suzuki Burgman Street launched at Rs. 68000

The Suzuki Burgman Street measures 1,880 mm in length, 675 mm in width and 1,140 mm in height.

The Suzuki Burgman Street features a long seat, massive underseat storage and a wide footboard. So, does the new Suzuki Burgman Street 125 have the muscle to take on its key rivals? It borrows the maxi-scooter like design language from its bigger sibling, the Burgman 650 which is sold in worldwide markets.

Suzuki has opted to go for tried and tested 125cc mill borrowed from the Access 125 to the Burgman Street as well.

Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) on Thursday announced the launch of its new premium scooter ' Burgman Street' with a price tag of Rs 68,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Burgman Street has been styled keeping the premium segment customer in mind, though its styling has been polarizing and onlookers have contrasting opinions about its looks. Also, while the Burgman and Grazia come with a full-digital instrument cluster, the TVS NTorq feature the "Smartxonnet" infotainment system that offers Bluetooth connectivity, navigation assist, caller id, last parked location assist, ride stats with Sport and Street modes, and more.

The kerb weight of the Suzuki Burgman stands at just 108kg and gets a fuel tank capacity of 5.6-litres. Wheel size up front is 12 inches and is shod with 90 section rubber, while at the rear you have a 10 inch wheel with 90 section tyre. The scooter gets front discs, while conventional drums do duty at the rear. Suspension duties are handled by similar telescopic front forks and spring loaded hydraulic type rear shock absorbers.

The 2018 Suzuki Burgman borrows its engine from the Suzuki Access 125.

In terms of specs, the scooter is powered by a 14cc single cylinder, SOHC 2-valve engine. Mated to a CVT (continuously variable transmission), the motor churns out 8.7PS and a peak torque of 10.2Nm. The Honda Grazia is priced at Rs. 59,662, ex-showroom, Delhi. However, most of the features mentioned above for the Grazia are of the top-end trim that is priced at ₹ 63,994.
