Beetz is also set to star in Season 3 of the hit FX show "Atlanta" as well as Steven Soderbergh's next film, "High Flying Bird".

Now, Consequence Of Sound reports that the origin movie has a name.

Joaquin Phoenix recently spoke about his decision to take on the role of the Joker and revealed that he's wanted to do a character study on a comic book villain for quite some time. Like Alan Moore and artist Brian Bolland's famous comic The Killing Joke, this 1980s-set movie will portray the Joker as a failed comedian.

Phoenix will have some interesting shoes to fill for the role after it was essayed memorably on the big screen by Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger (who posthumously won an Oscar for the part) and Jared Leto.

Joaquin finalized the deal to play Batman's arch-nemesis in June. I'm still not sure how Phoenix fits with Phillips; I can't conceive of them making any movie together, much less a movie about the freaking Joker, but if it really is a character study about a insane criminal, then Phoenix is smart casting.
