HTC Exodus Phone to Support Crypto Wallet, CryptoKitties, Instead of Native Blockchain

HTC is making a blockchain phone

HTC details its Exodus blockchain-based phone, confirms Fall release - news

The Exodus still doesn't have a firm release date, but HTC states that it's planning to unveil the device by the end of the third quarter this year.

The Exodus smartphone will be equipped with a cold storage wallet to keep cryptocurrencies offline and safe from cyberattacks, and support decentralized apps, the company said. "Our vision is to expand the blockchain ecosystem by creating the world's first phone dedicated to decentralised applications and security".

HTC is going to release its upcoming blockchain-powered smartphone, the HTC Exodus, by the end of the year.

Unlike the HTC U12+, the HTC Exodus will have an old-school design and we might not see a dual camera setup or even an 18:9 aspect ratio display like the HTC U12+.

CryptoKitties is now only available on desktop operating systems, and HTC's downloadable app would be the world's first mobile version of the collectible game, a company spokesperson said.

According to TechCrunch, HTC has revealed a few details on the project at RISE in Hong Kong this week. Today it became known that the blockchain smartphone Exodus is nearly ready for release, and that it will be released very soon. HTC claims that each phone serves as its own blockchain node, part of the network that helps secure blockchain systems.

Recently the far-famed blockchain-based game announced a partnership with Taiwanese phone producer HTC. I'm excited about the opportunity it brings to decentralize the internet and reshape it for the modern user. The company has just confirmed that its blockchain-based device known as Exodus will be made official during this Fall.

HTC has partnered with CryptoKitties to give a glimpse on how the blockchain technology works. As per previous reports, the Exodus was touted as the "world's first major blockchain phone".

More details about the HTC Exodus is expected sometime during Q3 2018.

The company says that it will provide more information about its blockchain smartphone in the coming months.
