It's hard to believe that an adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra's beloved comic book series Y: The Last Man is finally happening, but it is. His sister Hero (Imogen Poots) is an EMT who crosses personal and professional lines due to an "intense emotional trauma". Poots is with CAA and Troika. Like Hero, she's got a really interesting trajectory in the comics and one that doesn't go where you'd expect.
Lane will play Jennifer Brown, a first-term junior senator who has already made a name for herself in political circles for her willingness to put personal ideals ahead of politics. She is repped by UTA.
Lashana Lynch (Captain Marvel) as Agent 355 (pronounced three-fifty-five), a secret agent of a mysterious government organization called the Culper Ring and Yorick's assigned bodyguard. Previously, she was seen in the lead role of Shonda Rhimes' ABC show "Still Star-Crossed" and also appears as a lead in the miniseries "Bulletproof" airing later this year.
Now living in a world entirely filled with women, Yorick heads out on a mission to discover why the tragedy befell the world and to look for his girlfriend Beth, who he last heard was halfway across the world in Australia. Canfield now appears in a recurring role on the HBO series "Succession". She is repped by ICM and Brookside Management.
Ireland portrays Nora, the President's senior assistant and right hand. Most recently she was seen in the Lifetime movie "Flint", about the Flint water crisis, playing activist Melissa Mays.
With Melina Matsoukas as director of the pilot, the show will now have to pass muster with executives if it's to move forward. She is repped by ICM and Untitled Entertainment.
Michael Green (American Gods) and Aïda Mashaka Croal (Luke Cage) will serve as showrunners while the American Crime Story team of Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson will executive produce.
