A Second Fortnite Season 5 Teaser Image Released

Fortnite Battle Royale Season 5 Announced

Epic announced $8m Fortnite summer series

Season 5 will kick off Thursday, July 12th at 09:00 BST (04:00 EDT) according to a Reddit post from Epic Games' MrPopoTFS.

Xbox updated its image for Fortnite: Battle Royale on Wednesday evening, featuring three new character skins. The game played host to a odd missile launch, a gnarly rift was torn in the sky, and now the developers at Epic Games are gearing up to begin Season 5 tonight.

The war between the two tip games in the battle royale genre has been going on for less than a year now, but that does not mean that it has not been a fierce one. Whatever's coming, we'll find out soon. Once the update is live, players will be able to purchase a new Battle Pass and check out the unlocks it offers. Season 5 will begin simultaneously across all platforms.

Between rifts pulling stuff out of the map or spawning random stagecoaches, not to mention the several llamas appearing around Europe, chances are, if you're a Fortnite fan, you've seen and heard it all. Could we see Norse god skins?

While there are obviously no details about these characters or the theme for season five, fans are certainly buzzing about all the cosmetics and storylines that may be heading for Fortnite: Battle Royale. And the teaser is basically a straightforward tweet saying, "Fortnite wow!"

Plus, Epic's first tease for Fortnite Season 5 shows off a mask of a fox, which some speculate to be Kitsune. Bearded, tough looking, with a lot of front pockets for storing all his important ammo and such.

You don't have long to wait long to find out more with the official server downtime and patch notes set to arrive in a few short hours.
