2nd suspect arrested in slaying of rapper XXXTentacion

Suspected gunman in XXXTentacion's murder arrested in Florida

XXXTentacion was fatally shot on June 18

Homicide detectives in the Broward Sheriff's Office have arrested one of the gunmen involved in the murder of rapper Jahseh Onfroy, known professionally as XXXTentacion.

XXXTentacion, 20, was leaving a Deerfield Beach motorsports store about 4 p.m. on June 18 when two men in a dark SUV shot him, Keyla Concepción, Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman, said at the time. Detectives say Boatwright and another armed suspect approached the rapper that afternoon in an apparent robbery, and that they are still seeking the second gunman.

Boatwright, of Fort Lauderdale, was already in custody after his July 5 arrest on unrelated drug charges. The 22-year-old Pompano Beach resident was charged with first-degree murder, in addition to violating probation for a prior charge related to auto theft and driving without a valid license. "Onfroy was transported to Broward Health North where he was pronounced dead", the news release continues. "He now faces an additional charge of first degree murder", the sheriff's office reported on Wednesday, July 11.

"We're not releasing any information about it because we're still looking for two other suspects, including Robert Allen", Israel said.

It's not clear why a murder charge was filed against Williams. Numerous photos that they shared, including the one above, showed the two rappers with a red mask. He is being held without bond at the Broward County Sheriff's Office Main Jail. This is the second arrest in the case; Dedrick Devonshay Williams, 22, was arrested on June 20, and charged with first-degree murder, operating a vehicle without a license and a probation violation. They have not said how he is connected to Onfroy's murder.
