The 2015 horror-comedy film introduced a group of kids who accidentally stumble upon R.L. Stine's enchanted manuscripts - unleashing all manner of frightful monsters onto the world.
The first Goosebumps, based on R.L. Stine's children's horror series of the same name, was one of the best family films of 2015, and was a box office victor for Sony after raking in $156 million.
Yesterday, Sony and Goosebumps teased the release of the trailer with a tweet from the film's villain, Slappy. And it looks like one fun time for the entire family this October. The follow-up continues the story first told in the hit 2015 release Goosebumps. Instead, we get the author's famous creations, including the Abominable Snowman of Pasadena and the Werewolf of Fever Swamp, coming to life (like in the original), and also evil gummy bears. Ari Sandel directs the sequel from a script by screenwriter Darren Lemke (Turbo). Haunted Halloween stars Madison Iseman, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Caleel Harris, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Chris Parnell, and Ken Jeong. It's expected that the cast of the original movie, Dylan Minnette (Prisoners), Ryan Lee (Super 8) and Odeya Rush (The Giver), all have secret cameos and will be back to help the new kids save the day.
Slappy is back to wreak more havoc this Halloween in a brand-new comedy adventure based on R.L. Stine's 400-million-selling series of books.
Interestingly enough, the date bump might just shed some light on the still-mysterious sequel status of star Jack Black.
The return of Jack Black, who starred as a fictionalized version of R.L. Stine, is still up in the air. Watch the trailer in the video above and see for yourself! Now the film finally has an official title: Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween. Check it out in the player below along with the first poster and images in the gallery!
