The 57-year-old was travelling to the set of his new TV show Catch 22 in Costa Corallina when a vehicle turned and struck him. The video shows what is reported as Clooney's scooter crashing into the auto while another scooter alongside him manages to veer around it.

A spokesman added: "A auto ( a Mercedes E SW) did not respect the right of way and hit him". Clooney has since been released and will resume filming in a couple of days, per CNN.

The actor was taken via ambulance to a local hospital and released later the same day.

The crash reportedly went down just after 8:00 a.m. - local time - when a auto cut across the path George was taking on the road.

This isn't the first time he has been involved in a motorcycle accident.

'MRI was negative, and he is not seriously injured. George suffered a broken rib and some other scrapes and bruises, while Sarah was diagnosed with a broken foot. "He is recovering at his home and will be fine", spokesman Stan Rosenfield told The Associated Press in an email.
