He was said to be travelling to the set of forthcoming TV series Catch 22 on the island, which he's directing, an adaptation of the feted Joseph Heller novel. Clooney, 57, is serving as director and executive producer on the project, and also plays the role of Scheisskopf.
It is understood he was rushed to Saint John II Hospital in Olbia with minor injuries but has since been discharged from ER.
Yesterday's headline grabber was the accident involving George Clooney, who collided with a auto at around 8:15AM. Clooney left the hospital about two hours after the incident.
The 57-year-old was travelling to the set of his new TV show Catch 22 in Costa Corallina when a vehicle turned and struck him. The video shows what is reported as Clooney's scooter crashing into the auto while another scooter alongside him manages to veer around it.
The actor was taken via ambulance to a local hospital and released later the same day.
This isn't the first time he has been involved in a motorcycle accident.
'MRI was negative, and he is not seriously injured. George suffered a broken rib and some other scrapes and bruises, while Sarah was diagnosed with a broken foot. "He is recovering at his home and will be fine", spokesman Stan Rosenfield told The Associated Press in an email.
