DJI Mavic Pro 2 Makes First Appearance In The Wild!

Say 'hello' to the DJI Mavic Pro 2 drone -- if this photo is real

Photo of DJI Mavic Pro 2 Leaks Ahead of DJI's 'Bigger Picture' Event [Rumor]

The device is foldable, as are all the Mavic drones in DJI lineup, but this one looks to be a fair bit larger than anyone we've spotted to date.

Well, if DroneDJ's sources are to be believed, DJI hasn't given up on the Pro and has plans to launch the "Mavic 2" with at least a couple of new features that could turn heads.

With the recent leak of this image and the postponing of the "Bigger Picture" NYC event, I wonder what's going on at the DJI office?

One of the most interesting things about the leaked photos is the Mavic 2 label on the drone.

Fans of the "quiet" propellers that were in the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 and DJI Mavic Pro Platinum will be disappointed with this new drone.

When it comes to pushing the limits of drones that'll fit in a backpack or (very large) purse, DJI has been tops - the Mavic Pro made flying 4K footage pretty dang portable, and we've called the Mavic Air the best travel drone. The device also sports what looks to be a swappable camera gimbal, meaning users could potentially switch out the on-board model with different version. This may explain the title of the See the Bigger Picture event. This photo at first glance would indeed appear to be the first full photo of the DJI Mavic Pro 2.

CNET notes in a post that 360-degree obstacle avoidance is a possibility here.

At the same time, you can see what looks like another gimbal with a smaller camera and sensor lying on the lower left corner of the table, implying that there may be two different models with different cameras.

If the DJI Mavic 2 leak shows an accurate image, there are still some remaining questions about the next DJI drone.

A new date for that event hasn't been set and word was that it was pushed back due to the tech in the drone not quite being ready for primetime.
