If you don't want to risk beta software on your phone - very wise of you - then the same upgrades should be rolling out in the stable version of OxygenOS in the not-too-distant future. Google had announced Project Treble ahead of releasing Android 8.0 Oreo previous year to enable a vendor interface to speed up the software update process for manufacturers. This will soon be arriving to regular OnePlus 5, 5T users soon.
Note: as this build supports project treble If you are not running open beta 12 for OnePlus 5 and open beta 10 OnePlus 5T make sure you flash this builds before updating, if not you should clear all data and cache from recovery before flashing the latest build. Now, though, support has been added to the latest version of the Oxygen OS beta designed for last year's phones. We're already now in H2 which means the possible arrival of the OnePlus 6T or some other color variants apart from the OnePlus 6 Red and the OnePlus 6 Avengers Infinity War Edition may be unveiled. Now the OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T flagship devices of the company is getting a new OxygenOS open beta update to bring Project Treble support.
Previously, hardware companies had to completely overhaul software code that Google itself admitted was "time consuming and costly".
OnePlus 6 camera test - How good is the new OnePlus 6? Some animations, theme accent colors, buttons, toggles, text, and the Settings app have all been improved. There's also an improved app list of hidden space, toolbox. The interface also offers users to change accent colours while the default launcher has been updated to feature better-curated search tags, including a new "installs' tab that shows the recently updated/installed apps on your phone". In addition to Project Treble, the update brings with it improvements and changes based on the user interface, such as a new design for the OnePlus weather app and a new user interface for the system app.
