Prince Louis's christening: Kensington Palace names the date

Prince Louis to make his first public appearance since he left hospital with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

Prince Louis is following in his new aunt, Meghan Markle's footsteps.

She and husband Prince Harry handed a winner's trophy to Frankie Dettori.

The third child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was delivered at the private Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in Paddington on St George's Day.

"Kate is on maternity leave reportedly until October", royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.

In early March, Meghan was baptized into the Church of England in a secret ceremony with Harry by her side.

'And I think it shows once again that the young royals are moving the monarchy on - you wouldn't catch the Queen and Princess Anne in matching lilac skirt suits'.

The announcement was made on Twitter by Kensington Palace.

Princess Charlotte was christened on 5 July 2015 at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham.

The duke and duchess confirmed the service would take place on July 9 at the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace, London.

Prince William and Middleton will reportedly make a compromise for their son's christening.

And the christening itself is quite the family tradition, Royal Central U.K. notes, adding Prince Louis will also wear a replica of the now-famous Honiton lace christening gown.

"We'll no doubt have the official christening photos, as we did with Prince George and Princess Charlotte".

"The Cambridges are well aware of the media spotlight on and interest in their family - we saw that with the recent photos of Prince George and Princess Charlotte playing at the polo match".

The little royal, who was born on St George's Day in April, will be baptised at the same place as his big brother Prince George.
