World Cup: Neymar sparks injury fears as he limps out of Brazil training

Neymar has returned to training with Brazil after limping out of Tuesday's session with an ankle injury.

The Paris-Saint Germain forward looked in fine fettle while taking part in a warm-up drill but quickly pulled up and was unable to continue.

Defending champions Germany made a disastrous start to their bid to win back-to-back World Cups with a shock defeat by Mexico.

"Neymar felt some pain in his right ankle, so that's the reason he left training".

However, the Brazilian FA have said that the player is suffering from ankle pains and insisted that their main man will train today. A few moments later he finally chose to leave, kicking a ball away with his left foot before limping away beside the team doctor. This was a recovery session for the starters.

Accompanied by a physio, Neymar couldn't keep up with the pace of his teammates and so had to abandon training early. Aleksandar Kolarov scored a spectacular free-kick to give Serbia a deserved victory in their opening World Cup Group E match against Costa Rica.

PSG's star forward arrived in Russian Federation after several months recovering from a fracture in the fifth metatarsal of his right foot, an injury picked up in February.

Heavily marked and far from his best, Neymar was fouled 10 times in the match against Switzerland in Rostov-on-Don. "When he is on the field he helps us a lot. He is a very important player for us".
