50M Units Sold with 400M Players Worldwide + Sanhok Release - PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds

PUBG juggernaut hits 400 million users, and for a limited time, players can get the PC version for $19.99

PUBG gets its first discount just in time for the third map

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) is celebrating becoming one of the "world's most played games this year" by knocking a third off the price of the PC version of the game on Steam.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has scored some pretty impressive numbers in its lifetime.

Of the 400 million players across all current available devices, 50 million copies have been sold between Xbox One and PC. To encourage even more players to get started in the battle royale, PUBG Corp. has discounted the game to $19.99.

Players will be able to "temporarily" unlock "many" pieces of content from the pass for free, but you'll need to purchase the Event Pass to permanently unlock the full selection of new cosmetic items. The Event Pass will last four weeks with the first batch of content including a themed Sanhok item set, to coincide with the launch of the new, smaller map (due to arrive on Xbox later this summer).

The Event Pass system as well as the new Sanhok map will be available on 22 June 2018. "As a result, many of you can't get the items you want instantly, and even though you've invested more money into the system, it can be pretty hard to get the items you want".

The Event Pass will includes dozens of missions, including daily, weekly, and Sanhok-specific ones. However, you can also permanently unlock a ton of exclusive reward items by paying to unlock the pass and completing certain missions to "level up" your pass. If you're hesitant about buying the Pass, but want to play the missions, you're free to do that.

Already, the game has been toppled from the top slot by the new player on the battle royale block -Fortnite.

PUBG Corp. just announced a new huge milestone for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.
