Last September, McCreery popped the question during a hike on a trail near Grandfather Mountain.
The pair, who met in kindergarten, grew up together in Garner, North Carolina, and started dating in their senior year of high school in 2011. McCreery reportedly made such an impression on the young Dugal at the time that she wrote "Mrs. Gabi McCreery" encircled with hearts in her diary. On Saturday, McCreery shared a People article on his Facebook page, confirming his wedding.
"In my life work I travel a lot, and we don't live together yet", McCreery recently revealed.
"I kept it very classic", Gabi told People about her big day. "I knew she was the one a while ago".
McCreery's song "This Is It" from his album, "Seasons Change" is about the couple's engagement. The resulting track is called "This Is It".
As for actually saying "I do", McCreery said he wasn't at all anxious about the big commitment. "We couldn't wrap our heads around anything.' I had to keep that one a secret for a while". "I'm like, 'Yeah, you guys are cool, but I'd really much rather be with my fiancee.' Now after this, as soon as I come home from the road, I get to go back to her and spend more time together like that".
When it comes to having a family of their own, McCreery says they don't quite have baby fever yet. "I'm going between Brady and Elvis for the names".
The newlyweds were joined by more than 200 of their closest friends and family and the ceremony was officiated by McCreery's childhood pastor, Entertainment Tonight reports.
