The memes feature photos of a smiling Brown accompanied by nasty anti-gay slogans that depict her as a homophobe, typically accompanied by the hashtag #TakeDownMillieBobbyBrown.

Star of Stranger Things Millie Bobby Brown left Twitter after she became the subject of a series of homophobic memes. It had originally surfaced back in November.

The actress, who was one of the first recipients of MTV's gender-neutral award in 2017, is anti-bullying and a strong supporter of the LGBT community, who has publicly voiced her support for GLAAD's Together movement as well as Parkland shooting survivors.

She's taken on the Demogorgon, but Twitter trolls may have been too much.

Another fan wrote that "yall evil as f**k for ruining millie bobby brown like this shes a literal angel and her career could end cause of some dumbasses who think using violent homophobic memes with a minor is amusing".

The reason behind the memes remains unclear, though several Twitter users have claimed they originated as an inside joke for LGBT tweeters.

Before her latest social media issues, the Inquisitr reported that Brown recently drew criticism over posting a picture of a moonlight kiss between her and her boyfriend, Jacob Sartorius.
