Sony have just revealed the release date for the remake of Resident Evil 2 and its landing on January 29th 2019, the same day as Kingdom Hearts III.
Although the Sony branded trailers imply the game is an exclusive, it's actually not and is also being released on Xbox One and PC. Additionally, it seems like it will feature the same over the shoulder camera as Resident Evil 4.
Resident Evil 2 first came out for the original PlayStation in 1998. It's good to see CAPCOM trying to make a game where buildings are up to code.
In Resident Evil 2, the classic action, tense exploration, and puzzle solving gameplay that defined the Resident Evil series returns. Leon and Claire must work together to survive and uncover the cause of the outbreak. Both Leon and Claire have their own separately playable campaigns, allowing players to see the story from both characters' perspective. Ultimately, it will be up to the fans to decide if they prefer the Resident Evil 2 remake's new direction, and they will be able to test the game on their platform of choice.
Face the grotesque hordes - Zombies are brought to life with a horrifyingly realistic wet gore effect as they react in real time taking instant visible damage, making every bullet count.
If you happen to be in attendance at E3 this year, you can play a short demo of Resident Evil 2 at Capcom's booth in the South Hall. Players will feel they're in the shoes of heroes Leon and Claire, terrified to step out of the light for fear of what flesh-eating nightmares might await them in the darkness.
