Dwayne Johnson and director Rawson Marshall Thurber scored a hefty deal for their new planned collaboration, action-comedy Red Notice, earlier this year. Before picking up the lasso, the actress was best known for playing Gisele in the Fast & Furious franchise, including Fast Five and Fast & Furious 6, which also starred Johnson. Red Notice will begin shooting April 2019 in Europe and Universal will release the film worldwide June 12, 2020.
Last we saw Gal Gadot on the big screen, she was still saving the world as Wonder Woman, first in DC's 2017 solo movie and later in Justice League. Thurber apparently jetted into London, where she's in the middle of working on Wonder Woman 2, for a whirlwind trip to pitch her on the idea.
The film's log line is being kept under wraps, but it is described as a globe-trotting, action-comedy, heist thriller designed as a three-hander between Johnson, Gadot and another male star who'll soon be set.
Red Notice is unique in that it's a tentpole project that was highly sought after by multiple studios based on starpower alone.
Red Notice will be produced by the returning Skyscraper team, including Beau Flynn (Rampage, San Andreas) for his Flynn Picture Co., Johnson, Dany Garcia (Jumanji, Ballers) and Hiram Garcia (San Andreas, Central Intelligence) for their Seven Bucks Productions, and Thurber for his Bad Version, Inc.
