Beginning the conference on a high note a new trailer was shown for Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
Square Enix also announced, for whatever reason, that they're re-releasing the remastered re-release of Kingdom Hearts 1.5, 2.5, and 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue all together in one package with Kingdom Hearts III. Just Cause 4 was the same - a competent trailer, but one that fans had basically seen during the Xbox showcase.
That suggests the transition we saw in the video is how the game works - blending TV show style cut scenes with gameplay. New features coming in Just Cause 4 include a new vehicle handling system, improved AI, enhanced physics, and extreme weather systems.
The most exciting games from Square Enix's E3 showcase
A brand new game from Square Enix, Babylon's Fall takes place in the far future and perhaps mimics the fall of real-world Babylon in 500s BCE. Sadly, both also had immaterial showings with next to no details revealed about what they will be like; the ultimate E3 tease. The teaser showed nothing worth clinging to otherwise.
After an exciting day full of announcements from Microsoft and Bethesda on Sunday, Square Enix is kicking things off on Monday with its first E3 press conference since 2015.
If Square Enix are going to come again next year, they really need to bring their A game and not play nice with other publishers and give away their biggest tricks. That was the best. But again, Square Enix made a decision to show a slightly modified trailer from the Xbox press conference.
