Rose Mc Gowan Indicted By Grand Jury On Felony Count Of Cocaine Possession

Rose McGowan Indicted for Felony Cocaine Possession

If convicted, McGowan faces up to a year behind bars, but her attorneys have vowed to fight the charge all the way.

McGowan's trial date will be set on Tuesday.

The charging documents say that after McGowan got off a United Airlines flight at Dulles International Airport in January 2017, the cleaning crew found McGowan's wallet next to her seat.

"Rose steadfastly maintains her innocence". McGowan had flown in for the Women's March on Washington that day.

"There is a warrant out for my arrest in Virginia", she wrote.

Earlier this year, McGowan claimed that disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein could have been involved in planting the drugs because of the "underhanded targeting of Ms. McGowan by the fallen mogul", stemming from her decision to speak about about her allegations that she was raped by the mogul.

Charging documents say cocaine was found in a wallet McGowan left behind on a plane past year. On Monday, McGowan was indicted by a grand jury for a cocaine possession charge. "I assure you, this selective prosecution will be met with a strong defence".

Weinstein has since been arrested on charges of rape, committing a criminal sex act, sexual abuse and sexual misconduct in NY for which has pled not guilty. "This indictment brings the defendant another step closer to accountability for the crimes of violence with which he is now charged", Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. said in a statement.

TMZ reported that the actress pleaded not guilty.
