Neymar Returns To First Training

Neymar to be Given Greenlight to Play for Brazil

While Neymar continues recovery, Douglas Costa picks up injury

Brazil's star forward Neymar is returning to training "better than expected", after more than two months out with a broken foot bone, the Brazilian team physical trainer said Wednesday.

Juventus winger Douglas Costa has a thigh injury, but at the moment should not be at risk for Brazil's World Cup squad, it was announced.

Neymar who last played football in February after suffering a cracked fifth metatarsal injury to his right foot while playing for Paris Saint- Germain, trained perfectly with the team freely.

Brazil will train until Sunday in Teresopolis, outside Rio de Janeiro. He returned to Brazil and underwent surgery in Belo Horizonte on March 3rd and had been recovering in Mangaratiba.

"We have started working one month before our World Cup opener, and until the end of the group stage there is more than a month". I believe that training with the squad, being monitored like he is now, with daily follow-ups, Neymar is very well taken care of. "We will try to speed up his adaptation so he picks up his game pace".

Prior to the session Neymar took part in a medical examination with the Brazil's coaches and doctors on Tuesday as they prepare for the World Cup.

Brazil, pursuing a sixth World Cup title, will have nearly a month to train for the tournament, since its first match will be on June 17 against Switzerland in Rostov, Efe news reported on Monday.

'He is being followed day by day so he can be cleared, ' Lasmar said. "The decision of just when he will play for the first time will be taken by all of us".

Neymar is expected to step up the intensity of his training in the coming days.
