Stoke are to pay the £1.8m compensation figure in Rowett's contract at Derby County and have agreed terms with the manager.
BetVictor's Head of ante post Football Michael Triffitt commented: "Following news that Derby had granted Stok permission to speak with manager Gary Rowett he shortened to 1/20 than the market was closed".
Gary Rowett is on the verge of being appointed as Stoke City's new boss.
According to TEAMtalk sources, the Rams are said to have asked Stoke for around £3million in compensation, with their manager still having three years to run on the new deal he signed in January of this year.
"The club is now in discussion with Stoke regarding the matter and will update our supporters in due course".
Could Rowett leave Derby for Stoke?
Rowett did not have a big budget in previous jobs at Burton and Birmingham and looks tempted to join Stoke, who are a financially stable club and will have funds available to spend because of £43m parachute payments following their relegation.
The 44-year-old turned around the fortunes of the Blues, taking them from 21st to 10th place in his first season in charge, making him a real favourite with the fans at St Andrews.
