Attack: As one of six Champions League winners in the Stoke squad this season, Xherdan Shaqiri couldn't save Paul Lambert's side from the drop despite contributing eight goals and seven assists. The former Bayern Munich and Inter Milan forward has been a rare creative bright spark in Stoke's dismal campaign.
They have a modern stadium, and the financial blow of relegation will be soothed by Premier League parachute payments totalling around 100 million pounds ($136 million) over three seasons. Next season will be the first time since 2010-11 the Swans will be in the EFL Championship.
Swansea's defenders were caught ball watching and hoping for an off-side call as Ndiaye ran onto a handsome ball by Xherdan Shaqiri to score the equalising goal for his team.
This season, though, proved to be a bridge too far; Clement was sacked in December, with Swansea routed to the foot of the table.
Shawcross added: "As a club we need to keep hold of the better players otherwise we will have a really tough season".
There could be a number of players who depart the club this summer. Shaqiri's £12m release clause has reportedly piqued the interest of Everton, West Ham and Crystal Palace, but he might hold out for the chance to play European football again next season. He scored four goals from centre-back last season, and has scored twice this season. The 23-year-old's form saw him return a WhoScored.com rating of 7.12 and despite Stoke's relegation, he did his reputation no harm.
He was instrumental in the mini-revival of the Swans mid-season and was a calming influence in the goal for Swansea all season.
Butland made several important saves towards the end of the match as Stoke held on to win the match with both teams going down to the Championship next season. He would be a valuable addition to the midfields of many Premier League clubs, though it is likely he will move to Serie A with AC Milan. The Wales worldwide scored two and registered six assists for the Potters, the latter his best return in a Premier League season.
