Bill Gates recently helmed a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation meeting with staff, and per the Guardian, he offered some anecdotes involving President Trump.

Gates said Trump had met his daughter Jennifer, 22, at an earlier event in Florida.

Speaking on All In with Chris Hayes on MSNBC, Gates says that Trump twice was confused about AIDS. "And then like 20 minutes later he flew in on a helicopter to the same place". In the footage aired Thursday night on MSNBC, Gates noted that when he first met Trump in late 2016, it was "kind of scary" how much Trump seemed to know about his adult daughter Jennifer's appearance. "Melinda [Gates's wife] didn't like that too well", he added. The competition was cancelled in 2016 due to heavy rain, and by then Trump was busy running for the White House.

On both occasions Trump "wanted to know if there was a difference between HIV and HPV".

Gates made the comments in response to a question at a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation meeting.

He explained the newly elected president asked him if vaccines were a "bad thing" and Mr Trump told him he was exploring forming a commission to look into "ill effects of vaccines".

"So clearly he had been driven away, but he wanted to make a grand entrance in a helicopter", Gates said, mimicking the flight path of Trump's helicopter with his hand, eliciting another round of laughs.

For the record: HPV, or human papillomavirus, is a very common sexually transmitted disease that often causes no symptoms, but that can lead to an increased risk of cancer in some people.

Gates is a critic of Trump's policies, but did, indeed, meet twice with the president: once in March 2017, and again in the March 2018.

Gates added that Trump talked about himself in the first person, telling Gates: "Trump hears that you don't like what Trump is doing".

Billionaire Bill Gates has told of how he had to school President Donald Trump on the facts of life, explaining that human immuno-deficiency virus and human papilloma virus are not the same thing.
