The $500,000 was deposited into the First Republic Bank account within 75 days of the payment to Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, Avenatti said Tuesday, and may have been used to cover the costs of preventing Daniels from talking about an alleged affair with President Donald Trump in 2006.
Trump's latest disclosure form, which the office released on Wednesday, reflected that he reimbursed the amount in 2017 to his lawyer Michael Cohen, who arranged the nondisclosure agreement with Daniels.
In a note, the Office of Government Ethics said it had concluded that the information related to the payment made by Cohen was required to be reported and that the information provided met the disclosure requirement for a reportable liability.
The ethics disclosure said Cohen sought reimbursement in 2017 for an expense he incurred in 2016.
Trump, his campaign and Cohen have all denied any wrongdoing.
Trump had previously disputed whether he was aware of the payment by Cohen and whether he reimbursed him.
"I don't think he's right", Giuliani said of Apol. His disclosure now suggests Trump repaid Cohen previous year. We've recently learned Cohen was subsequently reimbursed by Trump. Dillon didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
The payment is under investigation by federal prosecutors in NY.

In his financial discloser form, Trump has listed assets of at least United States dollars 1.4 billion and income of more than USD 452 million.
It said the payments continued because the contract could not have been terminated.
The claim came amid continuing scrutiny over the payment and what President Trump know about it. Trump and his personal attorney Cohen initially said the president knew nothing of it.
The newly-released financial documents also offered a glimpse of the performance of two of Trump's flagship hotels: the Trump International Hotel in Washington - which has attracted crowds of lobbyists, lawmakers and foreign governments with business before the federal government, and Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, dubbed the "Winter White House".
