Tiger Woods has confirmed he will tee it up at The Memorial Tournament in OH as hosted by Jack Nicklaus from May 28 to June 3.

On Wednesday morning, the Memorial Tournament announced Tiger plans to play. He last played in the event in 2015, when he infamously shot an 85 during his third round.

A statement said Woods, a five-time victor at Memorial, had added the May 31-June 3 tournament to his schedule along with newly-minted world No. 1 Justin Thomas.

"I am pleased that the Memorial Tournament once again is drawing a wonderful field", Nicklaus said in a release. Jason Dufner is the defending champ. Tiger has overcome a rash of back surgeries to rank as a top-12 finisher in four PGA Tour events in 2018.

Last weekend Woods finished tied for 11th in The Players Championship after shooting 11 under for the tournament.

"He's been very close, and having won five times at Muirfield Village, I wouldn't be surprised if he contended to win his sixth". Woods has already committed to playing in the U.S. Open in June, and he recently put his name in the hat to play The Open Championship in Carnoustie, Scotland in July.

"I have been so impressed with Tiger during his comeback, and as I said after last weekend, I think he is on the verge of winning for the first time in several years", Memorial tournament founder and host Jack Nicklaus said in a statement.

"It was just a matter of time, and this weekend was it", Woods said.
