The Denton County Sheriff's Office said a man killed himself after shooting his three children, ex-wife and her boyfriend, according to ABC affiliate WFAA.

"I didn't even know if they owned the house or rented", Booker said.

Authorities say five people died in a shooting Wednesday at a home in a rural town north of Fort Worth. She tightly held a picture of her three children.

Capt Hinojosa said at a press briefing that the agency is not actively looking for a shooter.

In her Facebook post, Simpson said she had been shot and was likely facing more surgeries.

It happened just before 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning at a home in the 600 block of Lonestar Park Lane, near FM 2499.

Both the Denton County Sheriff's Department and Ponder Police are investigating.

Firefighters were initially told that there was a self-inflicted gunshot victim.

Yeager said in a telephone interview he had been in contact with Ponder police, and a lockdown was not needed. That one surviving victim was transported to Medical City Denton, but the individual's condition is still not known at this time. "So, residents of the Ponder are safe", he said. "Regretful, regretful really sad pray for them, pray for the family, pray for the neighborhood".
