Top worldwide stars like Australians Alyssa Healy and Meg Lanning will be seen in action in the upcoming one-off Women's T20 Challenge match to be played on May 22 ahead of the IPL Qualifier 1 in Mumbai.
As per the press release from BCCI, it says, "The one-of-its-kind match featuring 26 players including 10 global stars from Australia, England and New Zealand will be played ahead of the VIVO IPL 2018 Qualifier 1".
The contest will see India Women's T20 vice captain Smriti Mandhana-led IPL Trailblazers compete against IPL Supernovas, to be captained by Harmanpreet Kaur.
Australia captain Meg Lanning, star all-rounder Ellyse Perry, England's Danielle Wyatt will be playing alongside India's Harmanpreet Kaur and Mithali Raj in the upcoming Indian Premier League exhibition match at the Wankhede Stadium. The BCCI said in its statement that decision has been taken considering the success of the Indian team, which reached the final of the World Cup-2017. We were in talks with several Boards and I am pleased with the outcome.
Speaking about the T20 Challenge game, Rajeev Shukla, Chairman, IPL, said, "Even as IPL continues to roll like a well-oiled machine, over the last couple of weeks, efforts were made to put in place a similar structure for women cricketers. Danielle Wyatt and Daniel Hazell will add the English flavour".

The T20 match will begin at 14:00 IST and will be followed by the IPL 2018 Qualifier 1 at 19:00 IST.
It is also a way to test waters for a women's IPL in near future.
